About Karen Kashmanian Oates, Peterson Family Dean of Arts & Sciences
Over 50% of the credits awarded at WPI are completed in arts and sciences disciplines.
As the inaugural arts and sciences dean at WPI, Dr. Oates oversees seven academic departments: Biology and Biotechnology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Humanities and Arts, Mathematical Sciences, Physics, and Social Science and Policy Studies – as well as interdisciplinary programs in Environmental Science and Interactive Media & Game Development.
Dean Oates joined WPI from the National Science Foundation in 2010.
