2010 marked the 40th Anniversary of the WPI plan. One of the key building blocks of The Plan is the Interactive Qualifying Project. Many students utilize WPI’s network of global project centers to complete their IQP – spending a term in locations such as Namibia, Italy, Thailand, South Africa, Australia, England and Denmark. Now you have the opportunity to meet WPI students and faculty at these centers and visit other remarkable destinations in those countries!
The Alumni Association has partnered with one of the world’s largest travel companies, Collette Vacations, to offer several vacations to exciting locations where project centers are located. We’ve matched Collette’s planned trips with activities in project centers and are pleased to say the next trip will feature:
Tropical Costa Rica: April 26 – May 4, 2014
Costa Rica Project Center visit on April 26th.
In addition to meeting with students and faculty, these trips will allow you to travel with fellow WPI alumni and build lasting friendships! By participating in this travel program, you will also be supporting a major initiative of the Alumni Association – 10% of every trip booked goes straight to the WPIAA scholarship fund!
“Giving alumni the opportunity to visit students and faculty in the Project Center host countries is an exciting addition to the benefits of being a WPI alum,” said Rick Vaz, Dean of WPI’s Interdisciplinary and Global Studies Division. “Alumni now have the opportunity to visit interesting travel destinations while learning how current undergraduates are working to solve problems of local importance. Given that a percentage of the trip cost goes back to the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, the partnership is a win-win situation for everyone.”
